Run For Her
What began as a brainstorming session for a Master's thesis has now become
the 5th Annual Run for Her 5k Run and Friendship Walk for Ovarian Cancer
Research and Awareness. Motivated by her mom's 10-year battle with cancer
and inspired by her mom's continued courage, Kelli Sargent partnered with
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and organized the 2005 inaugural event. To date,
thousands of participants and supporters have helped increase ovarian cancer
awareness and have raised over $2 million for ovarian cancer research. Nanci
lost her battle to ovarian cancer last year, but her strength, inspiration,
and compassion will continue through Run for Her. Together, we will work to
fulfill Nanci's dream of saving the lives of the women in your life.
The 5th Annual Run for Her takes place on November 15, 2009 at Pan Pacific
Park in Los Angeles. Everyone can make a difference in the fight to end
cancer - through care, philanthropy, education and advocacy. Every single
instance of involvement moves us one step closer to the realization of a
world without cancer. Whether you run, walk, donate, support a participant,
or help us raise awareness about ovarian cancer, your support of Run for
Her helps us achieve our goal.
Proceeds benefit Cedars-Sinai Women's Cancer Research Institute (WCRI) at
the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.
